Overview
FlowBill ("we", "our", or "us") is an invoicing and billing app for small businesses. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the FlowBill mobile app, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
By using FlowBill, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
Account Information
- Name and email address when you register
- Password (stored as a secure hash — we never see your plain-text password)
- Profile photo (optional, uploaded by you)
- Sign-in method (email/password or Google)
Business Information
- Business name, address, phone, email, and website
- Business logo (optional, uploaded by you)
- Invoice accent colour preference
- Selected currency
Invoice & Quotation Data
- Customer names, phone numbers, and addresses
- Product and service items with prices
- Invoice and quotation details (amounts, dates, statuses)
Optional Contact Import
- If you choose Import from Contacts, FlowBill asks for contacts permission and opens the Android contact picker
- Only the contact you select is imported into the customer fields
- FlowBill does not bulk upload your address book or sync contacts in the background
Technical Data
- Device type and OS version (for crash reporting)
- App usage analytics (aggregated, not personally identifiable)
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the FlowBill service
- To generate and export your invoices and quotations as PDFs
- To sync your data across devices (Premium accounts)
- To restore your data when you reinstall the app
- To process Premium subscription payments
- To respond to support requests
- To improve the app through aggregated analytics
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in two places:
- On your device — invoices, customers, and items are stored in a local SQLite database
- On our servers — for Premium users, your data is backed up to our secure servers hosted at flowbill.codeera.dev
We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit and hashed passwords at rest. Access to your data is protected by your account credentials.
Third-Party Services
FlowBill uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Google Sign-In & Firebase — for authentication via Google accounts. Google Privacy Policy
- Google AdMob — to display ads for free-tier users. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID. Google Privacy Policy
- Google Play — for app distribution and subscription billing
We do not share your invoice data, customer data, or business information with any of these services.
Ads
Free-tier users see ads powered by Google AdMob. These ads may be personalised based on your device's advertising ID and general location. You can opt out of personalised ads in your device settings:
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation
Premium subscribers do not see any ads.
Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account from within the app, all your data stored on our servers is permanently deleted within 30 days.
Data stored on your device is removed when you uninstall the app.
Your Rights
- Access — you can view all your data within the app at any time
- Export — you can export your invoices and quotations as PDFs
- Correction — you can update your name, email, and business info in the app
- Deletion — you can permanently delete your account via Profile → Delete Account. This removes all your server-side data.

Children's Privacy
FlowBill is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via an in-app notice or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
Continued use of FlowBill after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
